Her Story

Meet Dr. Vondalyn Wright, wife, mother, entrepreneur, and Tampa native. You may know her as a Pharmacist and Owner of the East Tampa independent pharmacy, Health Matters, or as a FAMU Alumnae and Co-partner of Tampa’s hottest restaurant and lounge, 7th & Grove. What you may not know is that in 2021, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and is in the fight of her life. A fight that has empowered her while exposing her to the disparities that contribute to poorer care and outcomes for Black Women diagnosed with breast cancer.

OUR Fight

Black women are over 40% more likely to die from breast cancer, compared to our white counterparts. This has to CHANGE! Lack of education and access are two of the biggest contributing factors. Deeply rooted in her community, Dr. Vondalyn is passionate about sharing information, providing resources and creating partnerships with leaders that positively impact the Black Community.

In October, the Fight Wright Foundation will be hosting our 1st Annual Black Breast Cancer Awareness Festival. Be a part of our network and donate today! All proceeds will go toward
